Prisms have several uses in optical systems. For example,
they can deviate a ray, disperse white light into the visible spectrum or erect an
inverted image. Right angle prisms are used to accomplish a 90 degree bend due
to total internal reflection. Depending on the mode of the incident of light on the
inclined face, this prism may have an inverting effect with or without deviation. |
