Iguanodon |
Corythosaurus |
Iguanodon
Iguanodon "Iguana Tooth" was discovered in 1825 and was the first
named dinosaur. It was a large, heavy beast that existed in larger
numbers. The primary representative of the Iguanodont Ornithopod
family, it lived 140-110 million years ago. Fossils have been found
in England, the United States, and Europe. Replica is 8" long.
Replica is 8" long.
No. LRP16-IG.

Corythosaurus
Hadrosaurs are another Ornithopod family, and are believed to have evolved
from the Iguanodon. Also known as the "duckbills", these dinosaurs
had wide toothless beaks and flat skulls with bony bumps.
Corythosaurus is the most well known North American species. They
are characterized by a high, hollow bony head that crests. This led
to its name "Helmet lizard." The size and shape of the crest varies,
which for many years lead Paleontologists to believe there were seven
different species. Not just one is recognized. Corythosaurus
lived about 75 million years ago and fossils have been found in Montana,
USA and Albert Canada. He was about 33 feet long. Replica is
8" long
